Trait lore
Small fry - Just the minimum amount of fin, saltwaters with small or few fins typically rely on their strong tail and arm muscles to maneuver through the water. Small fry fins are a common trait, but because its undesired by the breeders/buyers salties with these trait are typically either culled at puphood or find their way into the ocean.
Arowana - The arowana style comes with wide fins, a chunky tail and scaled skin. The arowana style represents power and financial prosperity, it is favored by wealthy businesses and business owners. Having such a bulky animal on display is bound to deter some potential thieves or burglars.
Seahorse - A spiny body, curled tail and wing like fins. Leeches with the seahorse style have a dainty looking way of swimming and moving through the water, but there's nothing dainty about them during a feeding. Leeches with this fin style are usually just as brutish as any other saltwater leech.
Shark - Shark like fins and gills; It's a simple style, but it has a mighty presence. Leeches with the shark style tend to be more playful, following people from inside their tank and sometimes even allowing divers to swim alongside them.
Super delta - Long, wide fins that look almost like they're made of the finest chiffon; the super delta style is the 'creme de la creme' of the saltwater designer world. This trait is sought after by breeders and collectors alike, leeches with this trait go for high prices.
Nudibranch - A style that's more feelers than fins, but what really make it unique is the variety of color combinations leeches with this trait may sport. Tadpoles from an egg batch of 2 parents can all have completely different coloration and patterns.
Salt deposits: Salt deposits sometimes collect on a saltwater leech. They have many forms and may be grown purposely, either for the purpose of selling it or for the purpose of decorating a pedigree saltwater leech. Removing the salt deposits doesn't harm the leech, but it is harmful when the salt deposits are artificially grown to cover large areas of the leeches body and especially if the salt covers its gills.
Tragically, some saltwater leeches with less sought after traits are used as salt harvest slaves until they die.
