Prompts

Prompts are art-related tasks that will earn you currencies!

Each prompt will have a dropdown that contains requirements, such as a fullbody, with shading, or a background, so be sure to read each one.

About Prompts
Prompts will all detail how many times a month you can submit to each one.
As a result, prompts will need to be submitted individually to prevent cheating the limit– for example, bundling five individual headshots into one image would only take up one submission, leaving an additional four empty for the month that could then be submitted to again.

Standard prompts are the ones that are in permanently, with a set payout, unchanging requirements, and will reset their submission limit every month.

Themed prompts usually follow a specific topic, such as seasons or holidays. These have varying payouts depending on how big of an artwork is required. Some of them are small, but some of them can be a full illustration.

Flash prompts are occasional themed prompts that are not related to the month's current active theme, and are available for a shorter timespan.

The Bargain Bin is an unlimited deposit for sketches, paid artwork, YCHs, and otherwise unfinished works you can submit for a small handful of snacks. Be aware that the payout for these is heavily reduced, even if it meets the requirements of other prompts. You will get more depending on effort or by amount, but it will still be very small.
Because there's no submission limit here, please bundle multiple artworks into a single image if you can, especially if it's YCHs!

Commissions and art trades go in the Bargain Bin. As there has already been a transaction involved that result in you being paid, it would be unfair to give out a second full payment, but you can still send them in to the Bargain Bin for a little bonus payout.

Note:
Themed prompts use a pasted template, so if there is a typo that uses a previous month, flavor text, or has a requirement that does not fit the prompt (for example, requiring shading for drawing a silly picture of your leech with your non-dominant hand), please let us know.
The best place to do this is through
Discord, by DMing a mod, or in the #leechsite-help channel!

Grading

Completed and approved prompts will grant you the specified reward. Approvals are done manually by moderators, and can take up to a week depending on how available mods are.

Grading is done on a more complex scale than simply approving or rejecting.

Artistic ability is a big factor, along with complexity. Simple leeches will often not grant a full payout by the nature of their design. We will also take multiple factors into account here:
Taking a lot of care with the lineart, trying new and complex shading, adding accessories, difficult poses, or themes that take it beyond standard design will all elevate the artwork and may also net you bonuses!

If you are a beginner artist and are unfamiliar or unable to draw anything more than the basics, that's okay! We'll accept it for you. Just make sure it's shaded!

If your usual ability in artwork is of a higher degree of complexity and you're comfortable with patterns, textures, and a more busy design, drawing a very simple leech may result in a lower payout. We will send it back in this case and ask if there's anything more you'd like to add, or resubmit to a different category.

We also award
bonuses for several things if the prompt does not require it, including shading, leech complexity, adding an additional leech or a pet, or even a background. These are specified on the prompts, including the payout amount!
Keep in mind additional leeches should be involved with the first leech, rather than several individual artworks that do not interact.

If we miss an additional feature in the snack payout, such as a pet, please let us know, and we'll fix that for you.

Rejected prompts will come with corrections, so make sure to read these by clicking on the submission to view mod comments. Sometimes it will be as simple as submitting to the wrong category, missing required shading, or even just forgetting the image link, and we'll be happy to approve it for you after a quick fix!
Bigger pieces are sometimes given a full critique; these aren't necessary to follow to the letter to get the prompt approved, but they are intended as a helpful nudge in the right direction, especially if you're feeling lost on how to otherwise fulfil the prompt's requirements.

If you submitted a prompt incorrectly or with the wrong image and would like it rejected to resubmit, contact us and we'll do that as soon as possible.

If you have a personal issue with the grading you received, please
DM the mod who processed your submission. For example, if you received less snacks than you thought or would like a second try, it can be worked out privately.
Keep in mind we do discuss any and all cases like this amongst the other mods; the purpose of the DM is to simply keep discussion clear of the public server.

How To Submit A Prompt

Submitting a prompt for the first few times can be confusing! Here's how to do it!

The most important part is the Submission URL. Here, you'll need to host your image externally, such as through toyhouse, deviantart, and most commonly discord images. Please make sure the url is either a direct image link ending in a filetype like jpg or png, or to a webpage that contains it, like a toyhouse submission.
We can't access artfight or other pages that require login to view!
The Comments section is anything the mod needs to know, such as if it's a commission, a resubmission, a new style experiment, or other specific circumstances. This one is optional, however, so if you don't have anything to add it's fine to leave blank.

Rewards do not get touched. Your payout will remain the same - the mods handle all the extras, so leave this blank!

The Characters section is where you put in the Masterlist code of the featured leech(es).
The code is the letter-numbers combination in every entry, such as F-001 or MSCT-810. It does not include the leech's name, and requires the hyphen. If the code is correct, the leech's thumbnail will pop up on the left.
You can also add multiple characters as required!

Character Rewards are to be left blank.

Add-ons are similarly not currently used here.

Once you've added your image link and the character's code, you're good to submit! A mod will then review it within a week and process it for you.

Prompt Requirements
Specific prompts will have specific requirements, so please be sure to check the description each time!  Here's a few standard requirements for the standard prompts each month:

[Shaded Fullbody Art] This standard prompt requires you to draw a fullbody leech in the original proportions of the design.  Lux leeches may be submitted to this prompt, but other leeches in a more squished form must be submitted to the chibi prompt!  Leeches must also be shaded in order to be accepted.

[Chibi Art] This standard prompt requires you to draw a fullbody leech, but in more chibi proportions!  Chibis do not have to be shaded to be accepted, but shading will net you extra snacks.

[Shaded Background Art] This standard prompt requires the following: a background, midground and foreground; a fullbody leech with complex shading, and a minimum of three objects (such as a toy, accessories that aren't usually part of the leech, or a relevant prop.)
